Travelling with your pet in a camper around Tenerife
It's one of the questions we're asked most, and one that's rarely answered well on camper hire websites in Tenerife: can I bring my dog or cat? Here's the honest answer and what's worth checking before planning your trip.
If you're flying in with your pet
Every airline has its own conditions for travelling with pets — size and weight allowed in the cabin, carrier requirements, or whether your pet travels in the hold. Check directly with your airline when booking the flight, and make sure your pet's vaccination record and passport are up to date before leaving home.
Tenerife is just as enjoyable with your pet
Several municipalities on the island have stretches of beach set aside for dogs, although the rules vary by council — check with the town hall for the area you're visiting before you go. Away from the beach, the island offers plenty for walking your pet: trails in Anaga, rural paths in the north, and the area around El Sauzal itself.

The same flexibility the camper gives you with pets — stopping whenever needed, not being tied to hotel schedules — works just as well with young children: naps whenever they're due, improvised stops at a beach or a park, without the rigidity of a fixed itinerary.
