The rules on overnight parking and camping in the Canary Islands vary by area and can change, so rather than give you a fixed list that goes out of date, we'll tell you about the tool we use ourselves to get around the island.
Park4Night: the go-to app
Park4Night is an app (free, with a paid option for more filters) used by thousands of camper and motorhome travellers across Europe. It works like a collaborative map: every point has been shared by another traveller, with photos, recent comments and useful details — whether there's shade, whether you can empty grey water, whether the spot is quiet or noisy, whether others have had any problems there.
In Tenerife the Park4Night community is very active: you'll find everything from motorhome service areas to quiet car parks by the coast, always with the most recent information from someone who's been there lately. It's the most reliable way to know what you can actually do TODAY at a specific spot, better than any list we could write today that goes stale by tomorrow.
How to use it well
- Download it before you set off (it works with downloaded maps, handy if you run out of data).
- Read the most recent comments, not just the average rating.
- Always respect local signage, especially in protected natural areas like Anaga or Teide.
- Leave the spot as you found it — the community itself values this highly in reviews.
