A one-week camper route around Tenerife
Tenerife is a small island on the map and an enormous one in landscapes: in a week in a camper you have time to go from the beach to the cloud forest, and from the forest to Spain's highest volcano. This is a relaxed itinerary, designed to take things slowly rather than spend the whole trip behind the wheel.

Days 1-2 · North: El Sauzal, La Laguna and Anaga
You pick up your camper in El Sauzal and start with what's closest. San Cristóbal de La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, can be visited in a morning. In the afternoon, head up to Anaga: narrow roads through laurel forest, viewpoints over the sea, and villages like Taganana or Chamorga, almost at the very tip of the island.
Day 3 · North coast: Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava
Head down to Puerto de la Cruz, with its seafront promenade and Botanical Garden, then up to La Orotava to wander its historic centre. It's a gentle-paced day, ideal for doing the camping laundry and filling the water tank before carrying on.
Days 4-5 · Teide
From the north, the climb up to Teide via the TF-21 is one of the most spectacular roads on the island, winding through pine forest and lava flows. Teide National Park can be visited by car/camper with no restrictions, with stops at Roques de García and the cable car. If you want to hike up to the summit, you need a free permit requested in advance on the National Park's official website — check availability before planning that day, as places are limited.
Day 6 · Icod de los Vinos and Garachico
Continue west: Icod de los Vinos is home to the Drago Milenario, one of the oldest and most photographed trees in the Canary Islands. A few minutes away, Garachico is a seafaring village rebuilt on lava, with natural pools to cool off in.
Day 7 · Coastal return and wrap-up
Last day for anything left on the list — a beach, a viewpoint, a local market — before returning the camper in El Sauzal.
