December-March: Peak Season in Tenerife
Across most of Spain, booking a winter trip sounds counterintuitive. In Tenerife it's exactly the opposite: December-March is the busiest season of the year, not the quietest. If your plan is to come here in a campervan during these months, the booking window is already open — and with a fleet of 11 vans, the most in-demand dates fill up faster than you'd expect.
Why December-March is peak season here
Tenerife is one of Europe's favorite "winter sun" destinations: while the rest of the continent shivers, average temperatures here hover around 18-20 °C. The result shows up in real numbers, not just a feeling: Tenerife closed 2025 with 7,561,659 tourists (+2.4% year-on-year, according to Turismo de Tenerife's official figures), and 2026 has started off even stronger, with January up a striking +8.1% year-on-year and January-February rising +1.5% in overnight tourists.
Much of that boost comes from Nordic, German and British markets that have long had the winter route to the Canary Islands firmly set in their travel calendars.
What this means for your booking
You don't need to wait until November to start thinking about Christmas, Three Kings' Day or Carnival dates: the more people are already planning to come during these months, the sooner the most requested dates on a small fleet like ours get booked up.
